Most games like Half Life 2 or Call of Duty 4 ship with very tidy coding and sophisticated, controllable tools for lag compensation. SA:MP is nothing like those games. The only answer to SA:MPs lag and the fact that players connect from all over the world is you must be prepared to lead properly.

Don't aim directly at someone who is moving or you will not hit them, shoot to their side.
